This year I’m going to focus on creating an SAAS that I’ve been thinking about for a while now.I live in Australia and I’d like to create a website builder, similar to Shopify and Wix, however target it to a local audience to stand out. I know it’s a very flooded market already but my vision is to have it branded as being “For Australian Business’s”.Though it’s nice to dream big, my goal is to have 100 - 200 customers so that this business can be a way to subsidise my income. I feel this is a realistic goal if I put in the work. Now I’m met with a big decision. Do I use existing software to create this SAAS and rebrand it as my own? Or do I hire a developer to create an original product?I am very well versed in Wordpress and would essentially be building off of that. I have a plug-in (add on) that allows users to create their own websites. It would use an existing template range from a popular Wordpress page builder such as Elementor.I would also create a unique and easy to use backend. I would remove all Wordpress branding and it would look like an original product. I would still disclose to the customers the software that’s used, like Wordpress and elementor. This is the cheaper option. I estimate it will cost me around $1000 to setup. The other option is to hire a developer to create the SAAS for me. That way it would be a completely original product and I’d have full control of the code. The problem with this is the potential cost to set it up and the ongoing cost to keep it running.Would love to hear what you guys think. Thanks! see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
