I wanted to make a post sharing my experience launching my very own social media website. I'm currently a senior in high school and started around 7 months ago. I won't go too much into the idea or try to promote it at all but the basic gist was a private community for introverts to share and feel heard. What you're probably thinking is, "Why would an Introvert join a social media site." That's a goof question and engagement was definitely an issue and still is now. At first my site was just a forum that I made with a no-code tool becuase of my lack of programming experience. Lot's of people told me to learn how to code but I knew I needed to launch a MVP now to test the idea. I was right in my judgment and I got lot's of feedback. Reddit was my main source of traffic and at it's height I had over 11,000 page views and 160 active members. It was great but I lacked the tools needed to make changes and updates that my users required. This took me on a path to look for a differnt technology to upgrade my site with. After a month of research and planning I launched the new and improved version but the response was not what I expected. Most of my members didn't engage nearly as much as before and I think it was because I forced too much too quickly. Things went downhill from here and traffic slowed. I made an Instagram to try and grow an audience but I subconsciously went against my entire reason for making my site. This was supposed to be a community of introverts who can share freely and explore opportunities outside their comfort zones but it's hard to build a community with a meme page. That's where I am now and this has motivated me to first, record everything that I have learned and start talking to users. I still believe in the idea but I need to straighten things out and align my original mission. Phase 2 is starting now :) see hubwealthy.com/wealthy
